Do we really need a Caller ?

YES……..unless you are very experienced dancers.Please look at THE CALLER page/s where the role of the caller is explained far more fully.

Even the experienced dancers appreciate a caller’s leadership – it’s not to say that we are all sheep,of course…………but the vast majority rely (in any given situation) on the advice and guidance of an experienced hand….

Of course,we are sometimes asked to provide a band for concert performances.....in which case no caller would be required (and any dancing would be on the spur of the moment).....an altogether different type situation to an organised ceilidh or barn dance
