A Professional Service

Another reason why we set up our agency ? We wanted to put everything on a professional basis.Even now, lots of people still take everything quoted to them on a ‘word of mouth’ basis. Many years back,we heard horror stories of bands who had become ‘double-booked’ – meaning………same band is in two places on the same night !! What ????????? This meant that one party finished up with a ‘scratch’ band or (God forbid) NO BAND AT ALL !! Can you imagine that ? The band booked for your wedding reception ain’t there !!! Best musos in the world – BUT THEY’RE SOMEWHERE ELSE ! We could not understand, honestly, why things like this should happen. Our agency ALWAYS CONFIRMS EVERYTHING IN WRITING.It’s a pain,of course…………but VITAL.Written contracts clarify everybody’s expectations and responsibilities and we would not have matters any other way.We want everyone involved to have the same hymnsheet.(Bragging now……….but since 1995 every single band booked through ‘Jig N Reels’ has always performed….we started in 1995).To see our booking procedures CLICK HERE - this new page is extremely boring,legal-speak type stuff..........it will probably send you to sleep...........but we believe that everything should be clear IN EVERYBODY'S INTEREST.Please,DO take a little time to check it out !

And….talking of the bands (and professionalism) – we have always considered that we have an equal responsibility to both our clients/customers and the artists (the bands/callers).We do not expect bands to work at a prestigious event for ‘pin money’.Would you want to book a band whose fiddle player has a ‘headache’ on the night of your particular event and decides not to turn up …………’cos he’s only 30 quid out of pocket ? Our quoted prices reflect the fact that bands will make all allowances for engaging a full suitable complement of musicians. We work professionally, make sure that all our bands approach every booking professionally and we charge sensible prices which reflect this degree of professionalism. We want to make sure that your event works for you,for your guests and for the band that you have chosen.
